Malawi

Malawi is a small, landlocked country in southern Africa, known as the warm heart of Africa for the friendliness of its people. Lake Malawi, which covers about a fifth of the country, is famous for its colourful cichlid fish, clear water and beaches at Cape Maclear and Likoma Island.

Liwonde and Majete national parks have elephants, hippos and the Big Five, and the Mulanje Massif and the Nyika Plateau offer hiking. Malawi is relaxed, good value and much less visited than its neighbours.
