Short description of Likoma Island

Likoma is a small Malawian island sitting inside Mozambican water, and on it stands a cathedral the size of Winchester, put up by missionaries in nineteen oh three for a congregation that could never have filled it. Baobabs line the sandy paths between the villages and the shore is all rock and very clear water. One lodge on the west side is among the most admired in the region. The ferry calls only twice a week in each direction, which tends to fix how long people end up staying whether they meant to or not.
