Travel to Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha
Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha are a British Overseas Territory of three remote island groups in the South Atlantic. Saint Helena, reached by scheduled flights from South Africa, is known as the place of Napoleon's exile, whose house at Longwood and empty tomb can be visited, and Jamestown climbs a steep valley by the 699 steps of Jacob's Ladder.
Ascension is a volcanic island of turtles and a planted cloud forest, reached by a monthly flight. Tristan da Cunha, one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world, is reached only by ship from Cape Town.
