Description
Triglav National Park (Triglavski narodni park) is Slovenia’s only national park and covers around 840 square kilometers in the heart of the Julian Alps. Named after Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest peak at 2,864 meters and one of the country’s most important national symbols, the park is known for dramatic alpine landscapes, deep valleys, and rich mountain meadows. Highlights include the Vršič Pass with its 50 hairpin bends, the Valley of the Seven Lakes, and numerous hiking trails through pristine mountain scenery. Mount Triglav itself is a challenging mountaineering destination with deep cultural significance in Slovenia. The park combines unspoiled nature, alpine traditions, and spectacular landscapes.
