Description
Logar Valley (Logarska dolina) is one of Slovenia’s most striking alpine valleys and a protected landscape in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The roughly seven-kilometer-long glacial valley combines a distinctive cultural landscape of meadows, traditional farmsteads, and historic kozolec hayracks with an impressive mountain setting. At the head of the valley, the approximately 90-meter-high Rinka Waterfall plunges over a steep rock ledge. A hiking trail continues into the alpine basin of Okrešelj, surrounded by dramatic peaks. Logar Valley embodies the close connection between alpine nature, traditional farming, and Slovenian mountain culture, making it one of the country’s most remarkable and evocative landscapes.
