Description
Remich calls itself the pearl of the Moselle and is the centre of Luxembourg's wine country, a small town whose long plane-shaded esplanade runs directly along the river. Passenger boats leave from the quay for cruises upstream and down, and the vineyards of Riesling, Pinot and Auxerrois climb the slopes on both banks. The Caves St Martin cut deep galleries into the rock to age Crémant, and cellars in the town and surrounding villages pour year round. A footbridge crosses to Germany, and the riverside cycle path runs the whole valley.
