Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world, off the southeast coast of Africa, where most of the plants and animals are found nowhere else. Lemurs live in the rainforests of Andasibe and Ranomafana, chameleons of every size cling to the branches, and the Avenue of the Baobabs near Morondava is one of the most photographed landscapes in Africa.
The limestone pinnacles of the Tsingy de Bemaraha are listed by UNESCO, and the island of Nosy Be and the coast of Île Sainte-Marie offer beaches and whales in season. Roads are slow, so distances take time.
