Vinnytsia
Ukraine · Vinnytsia Oblast · 298 m
Description
Vinnytsia is a mid-sized Podolian city on the Southern Buh that is regularly voted the most comfortable place to live in Ukraine, and it shows in a walkable centre, a working tram system and clean riverside parks. Its best known sight is a floating fountain in the river that is the largest of its kind in Europe and plays a laser and music programme on summer evenings. In the woods outside the city lie the concrete ruins of Werwolf, Hitler's eastern headquarters, blown up in 1944 and left as rubble.
