Short description of Tendaba
Tendaba is a camp on the south bank of the river and very little else, and it has been the base for inland birding in this country for as long as anyone has been coming. Boats go out at dawn across the water into the creeks of a wetland reserve on the far side, where mangrove channels narrow until the branches close overhead. A track behind the camp runs into a national park of dry woodland with warthog and bushbuck. The river here is very wide and brown. Nothing at all about the place is polished.
