Short description of Kololi
Kololi is the centre of gravity of Gambian tourism, a short strip of hotels, bars and restaurants set back from a wide brown sand beach that charter flights have been landing people on for decades. The Senegambia strip runs a few hundred metres and holds most of the country's nightlife, its craft stalls and its touts. Behind the hotels a fenced patch of coastal woodland keeps troops of monkeys used to being fed. Everything else in the country is sold from here as a day trip. The strip empties almost completely through the deep rains.
