Short description of Kotu
Kotu is the quieter half of the tourist coast, a run of older hotels along a beach that shelves gently and a stream that reaches the sea beside them. That stream and the bridge over it make the most walked birding spot in the country, where a morning standing still produces kingfishers, herons and bee-eaters without any effort at all. Guides wait at the bridge itself and will work by the hour. A golf course with oiled sand greens lies inland just behind the hotels. Package guests walk to Kololi in the evening for the noise.
