Short description of Sumbe
Sumbe is the provincial seat halfway down the long coast road between the capital and Benguela, which is most of why anybody stops at all, and it has a decent town beach to stop at. Inland the country climbs quickly into the coffee estates around Gabela and the last patches of the Kumbira forest, which holds birds found nowhere else on earth. The Binga falls on the Keve run heavy after the rains and are thin by the end of the dry season. The coast on either side of the town is almost entirely undeveloped.
