Mussulo

Mussulo is a long sand spit closing off the bay south of the capital, with calm lagoon water on the inside and open Atlantic surf on the outside, and it is where Luanda goes at the weekend. Beach clubs and seafood restaurants line the sheltered shore, and the crossing by boat is itself part of the outing. The wind comes up reliably in the middle of the year and kitesurfers use the flat lagoon. Mangroves fill the whole southern end and can be paddled through. It is only twenty minutes out from the city terminals.
