Short description of Quiçama National Park
Quiçama is the closest park to the capital and the easiest wildlife day that anybody in Luanda can have, a couple of hours down the coast road past the moon cliffs. The war emptied it almost completely, and elephant, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest were all flown in from Botswana and South Africa to start it again. Densities here are still low and there are effectively no predators at all, so this is a landscape and river day rather than a proper safari. Boats run out on the Kwanza along the northern boundary of the park.
