Sipi Falls

Description
Sipi Falls is a chain of three waterfalls dropping off the western escarpment of Mount Elgon, the highest of them almost a hundred metres in a single fall onto a plunge pool ringed by ferns. The village above them sits at fifteen hundred metres in cool air, looking out across the Karamoja plains far below. Arabica coffee grows on every slope, and smallholders run tours from picking through hand roasting to the cup. Trails link the three falls in a long day, and abseiling drops climbers down the main cliff. The village is small and everything of interest lies within an hour's walk of it.
