Lake Mburo, Uganda

Lake Mburo

Uganda · Western Uganda · 1300 m

Description

Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park in Uganda and the closest to Kampala, which makes it the usual first or last stop on the western circuit. Acacia woodland and open valley grassland surround a chain of five lakes. It is the only park in the country with impala and the best place to see zebra and eland, and because no lion or elephant hold the ground here, walking safaris, night drives, horseback rides and cycling are all permitted. A boat trip on the lake finds hippo, crocodile and the African finfoot along the fringing papyrus.
