Description
Mostar is the second most visited place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the one image everyone carries of the country. The Stari Most, a single stone arch of 1566, stood for four hundred and twenty seven years until it was shelled into the Neretva in 1993, and was rebuilt from the river's own stone and reopened in 2004. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Local divers throw themselves twenty four metres off it into cold green water for a crowd. Cobbled bazaar lanes of coppersmiths run off both ends.
