Description
Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein and the reason almost every visitor stops in the principality, a town of barely five thousand people beneath a castle that is still the residence of the reigning prince and closed to the public. The pedestrianised Städtle runs past the black concrete cube of the Kunstmuseum, the national museum and a row of sculptures set directly in the street. The princely wine cellars pour their own Pinot Noir at the foot of the vineyard. A passport souvenir stamp at the tourist office has become the town's most requested item.
