Description
Skiathos (Σκιάθος) is one of the greenest islands in the Northern Sporades and a popular holiday destination in the Aegean Sea. The island is known for its dense pine forests, more than 60 beaches with crystal clear waters, and its picturesque main town with whitewashed houses and a lively harbor. Famous beaches include Koukounaries and Lalaria, which is usually accessible only by boat and is known for its white pebbles and striking rock formations. Historic sights such as Evangelistria Monastery and the medieval fortress of Kastro add to the island’s appeal. Skiathos combines nature, Mediterranean charm, excellent cuisine and lively nightlife in a diverse Greek island destination.
