Wli Waterfalls

Description
Wli (Agumatsa) is the highest waterfall in West Africa, dropping in two stages off the Agumatsa escarpment on the Togolese border, and the lower fall is a flat forty minute walk from the village through a butterfly-heavy forest reserve. The upper fall takes three or four hours of steep climbing and almost nobody does it. The cliff behind the plunge pool holds a colony of straw-coloured fruit bats numbering in the hundreds of thousands, which lift off the rock face in clouds when the spray shifts.
