Description
Ada Foah sits where the Volta finally reaches the sea, two hours east of Accra, on a long sand spit with the river on one side and the Atlantic surf on the other. Most of the accommodation is eco-lodges and beach huts strung along the estuary, reached by boat rather than road, and the calm river water is what makes it a weekend escape from the capital rather than another rough Ghanaian surf beach. Olive ridley and leatherback turtles nest on the ocean side between September and March.
