Description
Vanua Lava is the wettest and greenest of the Banks Islands, and its water arrives in a way that is hard to forget, since the Sasara waterfall drops off a cliff directly into the sea and boats pull up underneath it. Below the volcano Suretamatai the ground steams and yellow sulphur crusts the stream beds, staining the water that runs down to the coast. The Selva is the only river in Vanuatu with saltwater crocodiles in it. Sola on the east coast is the capital of Torba province and the smallest provincial capital in the country.
