Epi

Vanuatu · Shefa · 100 m

Description

Epi is the island people come to in order to swim with a dugong. One lives in the seagrass shallows of Lamen Bay and has done for years, unbothered by snorkellers, and green turtles graze the same meadows in numbers that make them easy to find. The bay is wide and shallow with a drop off at its mouth where the diving is good, Lamen island sits a kilometre offshore with a village of its own, and hot springs come up along the west coast. Very little is organised and almost nothing is signposted, which is most of the appeal.
