Description

Valbona (Valbonë) is a picturesque alpine valley in the Albanian Alps and one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the Balkans. Surrounded by rugged, glacier-carved limestone peaks and crossed by the crystal-clear Valbona River, the valley is renowned for its unspoiled nature, traditional mountain villages, and warm hospitality. As part of Valbona Valley National Park, it forms, together with Theth, one of Albania's premier hiking destinations, with the trail over the Valbona Pass ranking among the finest trekking routes in Southeast Europe. Family-run guesthouses, regional cuisine, and numerous hiking trails into the surrounding valleys make Valbona an ideal base for exploring the pristine mountain scenery of the Albanian Alps.
