Kruja

Kruja (Krujë) is a historic hill town in Albania and a symbol of the country's resistance and national identity. The former stronghold of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg is renowned for its medieval castle, the Skanderbeg Museum, the historic Ottoman bazaar, and the Ethnographic Museum. Perched high above the coastal plain, the fortress offers sweeping views to the Adriatic Sea on clear days. Traditional craftsmanship still defines the atmosphere of the old bazaar, where handmade carpets, copperware, and local handicrafts are sold.
