Thulusdhoo

Maldives · Kaafu Atoll · 2 m

Description

Thulusdhoo (ތުލުސްދޫ) is an inhabited island in Kaafu Atoll and one of the Maldives’ best known surfing destinations. Off its eastern coast, Cokes is a fast, hollow reef break, while Chickens on the neighboring reef is known for its long left hander. Both breaks run over shallow coral reef and are primarily suited to experienced surfers. Thulusdhoo itself retains the character of a Maldivian village with a mosque, harbor, boatyards, guesthouses and a designated bikini beach. The island is not a resort destination and offers a glimpse into everyday Maldivian life. Alcohol is not regularly sold on the inhabited island.
