Short description of Serakhs

Serakhs is an oasis town in the far south where the country runs up against Iran, and the border post outside it is one of the few places the two meet. Its monument is the domed mausoleum of Abul Fazl, a Seljuk brick chamber standing by itself on flat ground outside the modern town and still visited by people who come to pray. A second tomb of the same period sits further out among fields. The old citadel mound has weathered down to a shape rather than a building. Few tours come this far south.
