Short description of Riffa
Riffa is the second town of Bahrain and the seat the ruling family came from, spread as East and West Riffa along the edge of the escarpment above the Hunainiya valley. The fort that Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed rebuilt sits on the lip of it, restored and holding rooms on the family's rule, and the terrace beside it looks straight down the wadi. Below are the souq, the royal estates behind their walls and the only championship golf course in the country. It is residential, affluent and quiet, and it has almost no hotels of its own.
