Short description of A'ali
A'ali is a working village with a Bronze Age cemetery inside it, and the two have grown into each other. The royal mounds here are the largest of the Dilmun burials, two storey chambers under earth domes that stand between houses and at the ends of ordinary streets. Thousands more of the smaller mounds cover the ground west and south, a fraction of what the fields once held before the town spread over them. Potters still fire in dug kilns on the edge of the village. There is very little signage and no visitor centre.
