Short description of Zallaq
Zallaq is the resort coast on the western side of the island, half an hour out of the capital and built on what was a fishing village of the Dawasir. Al Jazair is the main public beach of the country and fills on a Thursday with families down from Saudi Arabia over the causeway. Behind it the Lost Paradise of Dilmun spreads its slides on a Dilmun theme, open through the hot half of the year and shut through the cool one. Al Areen keeps oryx and gazelle in a reserve alongside. On weekdays the whole strip is close to empty.
