Pasikuda
Sri Lanka · Eastern Province
Description
Pasikuda (පාසිකුඩා) on Sri Lanka’s east coast is a popular beach destination known for its wide, shallow bay with fine sand and clear turquoise water. An offshore coral reef protects the coast from stronger waves and creates calm conditions for swimming and wading. Resorts, restaurants and opportunities for snorkelling and water sports line the bay. Nearby Kalkudah Beach offers a quieter and less developed stretch of coastline. Pasikuda combines tropical beach life with expansive sandy shores and sheltered waters. The nearby lagoon city of Batticaloa, with its historic fort, adds cultural attractions and an opportunity to explore the Tamil influenced heritage of Sri Lanka’s eastern coast.
