Galle (ගාල්ල) is a historic port city in southwestern Sri Lanka and an important center of history, culture, and maritime heritage. The city is best known for Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with imposing ramparts, historic churches, mosques, and colonial buildings. Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences shape its distinctive character, while South Asian traditions and tropical architecture add to its charm.
