Sri Lanka · Southern Province · 5 m
Description
Hiriketiya (හිරිකැටිය) is a horseshoe-shaped bay near Dikwella on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, known for its palm-fringed sandy beach and relaxed surfing atmosphere. The sheltered bay offers different wave conditions, with a gentler beach break in the central area and a more challenging left-hand reef break at the eastern end. Behind the beach, cafés, surf schools, yoga studios and small guesthouses create a lively yet laid-back atmosphere. Nearby, the Wewurukannala Raja Maha Vihara and Hummanaya Blow Hole are two of the area’s notable attractions. Hiriketiya combines surfing, tropical beach life and cultural discoveries within a compact coastal setting.
