Description
Eleuthera is a sliver of an island a hundred and eighty kilometres long and rarely more than a couple of kilometres wide, with the dark Atlantic on one side and pale Bahamian banks on the other. At Glass Window Bridge the land narrows to a single lane of rock and the two colours of water sit side by side at different heights. Pineapples were grown here commercially for a century and the festival survives. Queen's Bath is a set of tidal rock pools on the Atlantic ledge, filled and warmed by breaking swell.
