Description
Dhaalu Atoll (ދާލު), also known as “South Nilandhe Atoll”, lies in the southern part of the Maldives’ western atoll chain and stretches 38 kilometers from north to south. Kudahuvadhoo at its southern end is the administrative center and is known for its historic coral stone mosque, renowned for its exceptionally fine masonry, as well as ancient Hawittas dating from the pre Islamic period. Rinbudhoo and Hulhudheli on the western edge are traditionally famous for their gold and silversmithing. The atoll combines island culture with luxury resorts and vibrant coral reefs, offering memorable diving, traditional crafts and glimpses into the Maldives’ rich history.
