Blue Eye

The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is a karst spring near Muzinë in southern Albania. Intensely blue water rises through limestone into a deep pool and flows away through a shaded woodland landscape. Its changing colours and clear outflow make it a distinctive nature stop inland from the Ionian coast.

Allow time for the approach from the visitor entrance rather than expecting to park at the water. The site is popular with day trips from Saranda and Gjirokastra, so early visits can be calmer. Follow current protected-area rules, do not plan on swimming in the spring, and check access arrangements before travelling.
