Speyside
Trinidad and Tobago · Tobago · 10 m
Description
Speyside is a village at the northeastern end of Tobago and the diving centre of the country, facing a channel where Atlantic and Caribbean water meet and nutrient-rich currents feed some of the biggest coral in the region. One brain coral off Little Tobago is more than three metres across and among the largest ever measured. Manta rays pass through the same channel. Little Tobago island is a seabird sanctuary with red-billed tropicbirds nesting on the cliffs. Charlotteville around the headland keeps a fishing harbour in a deep bay. The village is small and everything is arranged through the dive shops.
