Description
Buccoo is a fishing village on the reef-protected northwest coast of Tobago and the home of Sunday School, a street party that starts with a steelband in the early evening and runs on soca and rum until the small hours, entirely in the open air. It has been going since the seventies and draws locals and visitors in equal number. The Buccoo Reef offshore is the largest in Tobago and the reason the lagoon stays flat. Goat racing at Easter is a local institution taken as seriously as any horse race. Sunday School runs every week of the year, not only in season.
