Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

Ras Al Khaimah

United Arab Emirates · 5 m

Description

Ras Al Khaimah (رأس الخيمة) is the northernmost of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates and a quieter alternative to the metropolitan centres of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The emirate is known for its long sandy beaches, extensive mangroves and the dramatic landscapes of the Hajar Mountains, including Jebel Jais. Historic sites such as the abandoned pearling and fishing village of Al Jazirah Al Hamra, the National Museum and hilltop Dhayah Fort reflect the region’s long history, trading connections and rich pearling heritage. Ras Al Khaimah combines beach resorts and outdoor adventures with traditional culture, offering a diverse and relaxed introduction to the landscapes and history of the northern Emirates.
