Description
Patras (Πάτρα) is Greece’s third largest city and a vibrant center of history, culture, and modern urban life. The port city on the Gulf of Patras is an important gateway to the west and combines ancient heritage, Byzantine traces, and neoclassical architecture with a youthful, lively atmosphere. Patras is best known for its spectacular carnival, the largest in Greece, as well as landmarks such as the Roman Odeon, the medieval castle, and the neoclassical Apollo Theatre.
