Description
Naxos (Νάξος) is the largest island in the Cyclades and a diverse destination shaped by nature, history, and Greek tradition. The island is known for the striking Portara, the marble gateway of the unfinished Temple of Apollo, its long sandy beaches, and picturesque mountain villages such as Apiranthos and Filoti. In the fertile interior, olive groves, vineyards, and traditional agriculture shape the landscape. The Tragea Valley is home to Byzantine churches, Venetian tower houses, and ancient olive groves. Ancient sites such as the Kouros statues and Temple of Demeter add to its cultural heritage. Naxos combines beaches, mountains, history, and culinary traditions, making it one of the most diverse islands in the Cyclades.
