Lake Yojoa (Lago de Yojoa) is Honduras' largest natural lake and one of the country's most beautiful natural landscapes. Nestled between Cerro Azul Meámbar National Park and Montaña de Santa Bárbara National Park, it lies roughly halfway between San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa. With more than 400 recorded bird species, the area is one of Central America's premier birdwatching destinations. Waterfalls, coffee plantations, traditional lakeside fish restaurants, the Los Naranjos Archaeological Park, and the cloud forests of Cerro Azul Meámbar make the lake a popular destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and hikers. Its tranquil atmosphere and scenic surroundings provide a refreshing contrast to Honduras' bustling cities.
