Guanaja is the quietest and most unspoiled of Honduras' three Bay Islands. This mountainous, pine-covered island is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef and can only be reached by boat or small aircraft. Life revolves around the water and the densely built island town of Bonacca, often referred to as the “Venice of Honduras” for its network of docks and canals. Guanaja is renowned for its spectacular wall dives, coral pinnacles, seamounts, and vibrant reefs, making it one of the Bay Islands' premier diving destinations.
