Description
Harrison's Cave lies in the middle of the island and is the most visited natural attraction in Barbados, a live limestone system that the whole island is made of. Rainwater still runs through it, so the formations are wet and growing rather than dry and dead, and streams drop into pools in the larger chambers. An electric tram carries visitors along the main passage, which is the only way in for most people. Welchman Hall Gully next door is a collapsed section of the same cave system, now grown over with tropical forest.
