Description

Folegandros (Φολέγανδρος) is a traditionally shaped Cycladic island known for its rugged landscape, steep cliffs and whitewashed villages. The island’s center is Chora, perched around 200 meters above sea level on the edge of an impressive cliff, with narrow lanes, small squares and the medieval Kastro preserving its distinctive Cycladic character. Folegandros is celebrated for its traditional walking trails, dramatic coastal scenery and secluded coves and beaches, including Katergo and Livadaki. Taverns, cafés and bars are concentrated mainly in Chora, while Ano Meria and Karavostasis offer quieter glimpses of island life. With no airport, Folegandros is reached by sea, adding to its peaceful atmosphere.
