Description
Boma is the eastern half of the migration landscape that South Sudan shares between two parks, a vast tract of grassland and acacia on the escarpment below the Ethiopian border. With Badingilo it is the country's only World Heritage site, put on the list of sites in danger on the day it was inscribed. The white eared kob that cross it in millions are at their most numerous in the wet months, when no road or airstrip works. Above the plains the Boma plateau rises into cool wooded country where arabica coffee grows wild. Murle, Jie and Kachipo live across it.
