Description
Badingilo is the floodplain park east of the Nile that carries one leg of the antelope migration it shares with Boma. An aerial survey counted roughly six million animals, mostly white eared kob with tiang, Mongalla gazelle and bohor reedbuck behind them, more head than the Serengeti wildebeest though far smaller beasts. With Boma it is South Sudan's only World Heritage site, listed as in danger from the day it was inscribed. The herds calve here in the wet months and move north and east in the dry ones, so the season that shows the spectacle is the season the tracks are worst. There are no lodges and no game viewing roads.
