The Bolaven Plateau (ພູພຽງບໍລະເວນ) is a fertile volcanic highland in southern Laos, renowned for its pleasantly cool climate, sprawling coffee plantations, and spectacular waterfalls. Its nutrient-rich red soils make it the country's premier coffee-growing region, while dense forests, traditional ethnic minority villages, and diverse landscapes give the plateau its distinctive character. Among its best-known natural attractions are the twin waterfalls of Tad Fane and the impressive Tad Yuang. The popular Bolaven Loop links waterfalls, coffee plantations, and rural villages along one of Laos's most scenic travel routes. Its peaceful atmosphere, unspoiled nature, and authentic rural experiences make the Bolaven Plateau one of the country's most rewarding destinations.
