Kuang Si Waterfalls
Laos · Luang Prabang · 400 m
Description
Kuang Si Waterfalls (ນ້ຳຕົກກວາງຊີ) are located about 30 kilometres southwest of Luang Prabang and rank among Laos' most spectacular natural attractions. Cascading over a series of limestone terraces, the mineral-rich water forms striking turquoise pools before plunging more than 60 metres into the main waterfall. Several of the lower pools are open for swimming, making the falls a popular destination for both locals and visitors. Near the entrance to the park, a bear rescue centre cares primarily for rescued Asiatic black bears that have been saved from poaching and the illegal bear bile trade. Combining breathtaking scenery, crystal-clear natural pools and wildlife conservation, Kuang Si Waterfalls offer one of the most memorable nature experiences in Laos.
