Travel to Tokelau
Tokelau is a New Zealand territory of three small coral atolls in the South Pacific, Atafu, Nukunonu and Fakaofo, with fewer than two thousand residents. There is no airport, and the only regular link is a passenger and cargo ship from Apia in Samoa that takes a day or more to reach the atolls.
Life follows traditional village patterns, with fishing, canoes and communal meals. Tokelau was one of the first places in the world to generate nearly all of its electricity from solar power.
